Originally released in 1977, the Style 36, also known as the Old Skool™, was the second skate shoe ever made by Vans and the first to feature the iconic Sidestripe™. Designed by skaters for skaters, the first-of-its-kind suede-toed Old Skool helped propel skateboarding forward. Now, Vans honors this legacy of innovation with the Skate Old Skool 36+, an all-new skate shoe that retains much of the original Style 36’s silhouette and panel proportions, but with a modern twist.

The Old Skool 36+ Skateboards feature a padded tongue and shorter toe box, ideal for today’s skater looking for style and substance. Like the original, the 36+ is designed for skateboarding, with all the performance upgrades found in the Old Skool™ Skateboards: from Vans’ DURACAP™ technology to reinforce high-wear areas to withstand the demands of skateboarding, to the superior grip and board control of Vans’ SICKSTICK™ rubber and waffle outsoles, while POPCUSH™ sockliner technology provides superior cushioning, impact protection, and energy return for a smooth experience even during the most intense skate sessions.

Vans Skate Team riders Etienne Gagne, Basral Graito, Nelly Morville and Zion Wright star in the new campaign, which is set to a soundtrack of Zion’s latest song, Aquarius Baby.
