Since joining the Nike SB program in 2009, Eric Koston's ingenuity and deep affinity for Nike heritage have left a lasting impression on several iconic and classic SB models. He was instrumental in adapting and enhancing the legendary Air Max 95 for skateboarding, and the 30th anniversary of the AM95 was the perfect opportunity to have him create a custom version of this iconic shoe. This Nike SB Air Max 95 takes us back to the days when the skater had carte blanche to create exclusive models and brings back the color choices and details that have always defined his style.
Eric added custom name detailing to the AM95's tongue logo and sockliner and requested a Nike-inspired touch on the toe box: a Thai script that pays homage to his roots and harks back to his early SB designs. Koston's signature Air Max 95, which retains the OG's distinctive skeletal-inspired lines, features skateboarding-specific upgrades, including a leather and suede upper, folded cuff, double-needle reinforcement in high-wear areas, and reduced foam. Updated herringbone lugs increase boardfeel and traction while maintaining the aesthetic and functionality of the original's Max Air unit.
